Cloud Computing is good for some but Education needs some rain.
ED-MAN LLC   is   a   software
development  company    specializing   in
digital    file  management.    Anthony Vestyck
is  CEO and designer of   “EPEE Software for
Teachers” a new  teacher  tool  designed  to
manage curriculum and increase classroom
efficiency.

“If it doesn't start raining soon our tax
dollars will be going down the drain."
We have heard about "Cloud" computing.
Cloud computing is Internet-based whereby
shared resources, software and information
are provided to computers or other devices on
demand. Bottom line it eliminates user control.
“Remember the old saying?- Pay me now or pay me later.  We are doing both.”  Remember
when TV programs were free? Just buy a television, hook up the antenna and watch anything
you like. Every half hour you would watch an informative commercial for thirty seconds. Then
commercials started running so often you almost forgot what show you were watching in the first
place. So you bought into cable television to eliminate all the commercials. Well, you know the
rest. Bottom line.....you have no control.

"EPEE Software may be old simple technology but so is the wheel."   There  is  a  big
concern over software as a service and it is growing fast. There are two main issues. The spending
of huge sums of education funds for the development of something we will not own (the cloud) and
being charged to use it for the rest of our lives. The huge amount of money is needed because the
Internet "cloud" is not safe for confidential information such as student names, social security
numbers, birth dates, etc. Those that want you in the clouds need billions of Education funds to
stay ahead of the security threats. So your taxes will either go to teachers, schools and student
needs or to corporate pensions and bonuses. We are paying now and we will be paying later.
"
EPEE only manages curriculum resources and does not require personal student
information."

The new catch phrase according to Tony will be "Rain Computing". This will be the type of
computing that gets you back out of the clouds by providing  full  control  and  unlimited  usage
to  the  user  without interference. The system will still have web access but the system itself is not
dependent on the manufacturer or developer. School Districts (taxpayers) purchase the entire
program and can use it forever or until such time they choose to change. It would be a one time
purchase or donation with no fees or subscriptions. EPEE Software is such a program.
"The idea
was to create a system that assists teachers day to day, year after year but is the least
burden on taxpayers."

About Us: Teachers, developers and taxpayers looking to maximize the utility of the current
education systems, increase the efficiency of classrooms and promote the use of inexpensive
technology that ultimately provides a much larger return.
